Visit to NAAD Wellness
This review is a bit overdue. Not too long ago I had the opportunity to visit a small facility called Naad Wellness (www.naadwellness.com) which is about an hour’s drive from central Delhi. This is not a traditional resort nor is it a hospital. So let me call it a Wellness Centre. The owner and his team had been persistently calling me to come and experience it for myself. Not being a personal fan of Ayurveda, I did put it off, but finally went with my wife for two nights.
And we loved it!
Wellness and India are sort of synonymous these days. We are after all the home of Yoga and Ayurveda. We have some great resorts across the destination that we offer to our guests So the concept of a stand alone centre near an urban metropolis just didn’t seem right. But my visit did show me a very different opportunity, that we at Creative are now successfully offering to our partners.
Just an hour out of Delhi, with 39 rooms across four categories, Naad Wellness offers a small oasis of tranquillity after a longer classical India trip. For those who do not have the time to visit the more well-known resorts in the hills, this is a great option to just unwind and take a few days off to destress. And it is super time efficient as well.
From the moment you step into NAAD Wellness, you’re taken on an experiential journey. The centre is nestled away from the city’s hustle, sprawled across lush, landscaped gardens that marry the serenity of nature with the structured harmony of contemporary architecture. The aesthetic subtly blends traditional Indian motifs with sleek, modern design, creating an environment that feels luxuriously timeless. You really do feel you are in a lush green resort somewhere else.
The resort’s emphasis is its comprehensive wellness program. Tailored to individual needs, Naad’s approach integrates Ayurvedic healing principles, Yoga, and Naturopathy to restore natural balance and vitality. My personal journey began with a consultation, where the resident Ayurvedic doctor assessed my ‘doshas’ or energies and recommended a holistic treatment plan. The plan spanned therapeutic sessions, yoga, meditation, and a Sattvic diet, designed around the principle of ‘Ahara’ or wholesome food.
The treatments are the resort’s soul, and the experience is divine. From Panchakarma, an intense detoxifying treatment, to Shirodhara, where warm, medicated oils gently cascade onto the forehead, each therapy is performed by skilled practitioners who effortlessly soothe your senses. These treatments, rich in ancient tradition, are aimed at cleansing, relaxing, and healing the body, promoting an overall sense of well-being.
Beyond treatments, there are several daily activities that are a channel to rejuvenation. I found the guided yoga and meditation sessions particularly enlightening, held in tranquil spaces that invite you to connect with your inner self. (and for my friends who know me, for someone as fidgety as me, to say this is a big leap forward). After the initial doctors consultation, they give each guest a personal daily journey, customised to the individual needs and treatments. Every minute of the day was structured, making it a no-thinking break.
The culinary journey at Naad is worth a special mention. For someone who is a hard-core meat lover, this was a pure vegetarian, oil-free few days. And I didn’t miss anything at all. Meals here are not just feasts for the stomach but for the soul. The resort emphasizes a ‘farm to fork’ philosophy, offering a variety of vegetarian meals that complement your wellness regime. Each dish, crafted to support the personal individual’s treatments’ therapeutic, focussed on a balance of flavour and nutritive value, underscoring the role of balanced nutrition in overall health.
However, what made Naad really stand out for us was its people. Every member of their team is committed to providing a deeply personalized experience. Their warmth, attentiveness, and expertise helped me navigate my wellness journey with ease and comfort.
For international visitors, Naad Wellness isn’t just a retreat; it’s an introduction to India’s rich cultural heritage of healing and spirituality. The resort also offers immersive experiences, like cooking sessions and nature walks, which allow guests to embrace the local ethos.
We can easily add Naad to the end of something as simple as the classical Golden Triangle journey (Delhi, Agra & Jaipur) or to a longer trip. For those who want some serious healing, we do offer programs from 3 to 28 nights.
Our stay at Naad was more than a luxurious getaway; it was a reflective odyssey that nurtured my body, tantalized my senses, reset my mind, and ultimately, awakened my spirit. As a hard-core city boy, I did leave Naad a bit converted in my head that there are options in our incredible country.
