Akasa Air is gearing up to launch its international operations, starting with flights from Mumbai to Doha on March 28, to strengthen the connectivity between Qatar and India. This move comes less than two years after the airline began its domestic services. The airline plans to operate four non-stop flights per week on this route, marking its entry into the international market. Vinay Dube, the founder and CEO of Akasa Air, sees this expansion into Qatar as a significant step towards the airline’s goal of becoming one of the world’s top 30 airlines by the end of the decade. This initiative aligns with Qatar’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to position the country as the fastest-growing tourism destination in the Middle East by 2030.
Akasa Air has revealed plans to incorporate Srinagar as its 20th destination, with daily flights connecting the financial hub of Mumbai to the enchanting city of Srinagar, starting March 1, 2024. This move aims to meet the rising demand for air travel between these two cities. The airline’s entry into Jammu and Kashmir signifies a significant milestone, enhancing its presence in northern India. Travellers can secure their seats starting February 2, 2024, through the airline’s website, app, or leading OTAs. This expansion is expected to cater to both business and leisure travellers, boosting connectivity and economic activities in the region.
