If you’re an arts and culture enthusiast, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (12 December 2018 – 29 March 2019) is the place to be.
This international exhibition of contemporary art provides a platform for Indian as well as international artists to display their artwork. The streets and by-lanes of western Kochi come alive with colourful murals and decorations when the Kochi-Muziris Biennale comes to town. A celebration of contemporary art, the event is now in its fourth edition and has effectively brought the Indian art scene to the global landscape.
Over time, the event has also come to be associated with several projects in the state to empower both art education and outreach. The programming has grown to include cinema, music and even food.
