Tourists visiting the Statue of Unity in Gujarat will now be able to opt for homestay facility in the villages near the site. Reportedly, the Narmada district administration is working towards making homestay facilities ready in Kevadia colony for the visitors who intend to spend more time exploring the statue and its surroundings.
About 116 houses have been zeroed on across 22 villages in the area near the giant statue, and a total of 252 rooms will be made ready to serve the visiting tourists. The houses have been selected depending on their sustainable nature and if there is a spare room in the house to be used for accommodating guests. The government has chosen pucca houses as it will be easier to renovate them for the purpose.
