Tourists can now visit the legendary sites associated with the Hindu Lord Rama, through the recently launched âShri Ramayana Expressâ.
The special tourist train will cover places mentioned in the epic tale of Ramayana â one of the most significant religious texts in Hinduism, which is believed to be a mix of fiction and historic facts. The tale, which has adaptations in many different forms across South Asia, is also significantly set in the island country of Sri Lanka, which will also be covered in the trip.
The 16-day train journey will halt at destinations such as Ayodhya, Nandigram, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Varanasi, Prayag, Shringaverpur, Chitrakoot, Hampi, Nasik and Rameshwaram. The all-inclusive package will cover all meals, accommodation and wash and change facilities as well as all transfers and sight-seeing.
Tickets are priced at around Rs. 15,000 per person, for the India leg, while the Sri Lanka tour package is priced at around Rs 36,000 per person and will cover destinations such Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Colombo and Negombo.
