In the aftermath of the Sunday Easter blasts in Sri Lanka, the island nation is coming back to normalcy with several countries easing travel advisory to the country.
The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs updated travel advice from ‘orange’ (only necessary journeys) to ‘yellow’ (note safety risks), saying that the security situation in Sri Lanka has improved. Switzerland is no longer advising citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to Sri Lanka. However, travellers are still cautioned to maintain a high level of personal security during their stay.
Other countries are suggesting travellers to take all necessary precautions, including familiarizing with local security procedures, avoiding crowded places, tracking local media and keeping with latest developments, before travelling.
