Alliance Air celebrated the commencement of direct flights from Shimla Airport in Himachal Pradesh to Shri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport. Operations began on November 16, with the inaugural ATR 42-seater aircraft landing in Amritsar. The thrice-weekly service, scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, took off from Shimla at 8.45 am, reaching Amritsar at 9.45 am. The return journey from Amritsar departed at 10.10 am, landing in Shimla at 11.10 am. The Shimla airport, 22 km from the city, welcomed just six passengers on the inaugural flight, while 18 passengers boarded the return flight. The airline is offering a 50% discount on tickets for the first month.
