The Gangaur Festival, celebrated predominantly in Rajasthan and some parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal, is a colorful and vibrant celebration honoring Goddess Gauri, an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, and Lord Shiva. The festival, observed by married women seeking the well-being of their husbands and unmarried women praying for a good spouse, spans over several days and culminates with a grand procession featuring beautifully adorned idols of the deities carried by women. The festival is a spectacle of traditional dances, music, and rituals, offering a glimpse into Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage and fervent religious traditions. Dal Baati Churma, Ghevar, Gujia, Kachori, Aloo Tikki, and Malpua are prepared and enjoyed as part of the festive celebrations.
