India’s longest river ropeway to start in Guwahati by April

The eagerly-awaited ropeway, India’s longest, connecting Guwahati with North Guwahati will be opened for public soon.

The ropeway, at a length of 2 kilometres, stretches above the Brahmaputra River and will facilitate passengers to cross it without any hassle, while reducing the travel time to a great extent. The cable car will have a capacity to carry 30 passengers and will take 8 mins of travel time across river Brahmaputra. It will not only help boost tourism but essentially will help people reach Guwahati or North Guwahati in just 8 mins.

The operating deck will be on the south bank and security and safety has been given utmost priority with an extra reserved line for the car in case of technical issue. The cable cars will also offer stunning aerial views of the surroundings, and Brahmaputra River, Urvashi Island, Umananda Temple, and Peacock Island.
