Sri Lanka has made a significant move to stimulate tourism and revive its economy by eliminating visa fees for visitors from India and six other countries. This pilot project, effective until March 31, 2024, provides complimentary tourist visas to travellers from China, India, Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Japan. The initiative is aimed at promoting tourism and supporting the recovery of Sri Lanka’s economy, which faced challenges after a financial crisis the previous year.
