After a long-awaited period of over a decade, the India-Sri Lanka passenger ferry service is finally poised to set sail on Tuesday, October 10. This new service will link Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu, India, to Kankesanthurai in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, offering a relatively short transit time of approximately three hours. The ferry, Cheriyapani, is expected to provide convenient travel options between the two nations, with the added benefit of allowing passengers to carry up to 40 kg of luggage for free. The ferry can accommodate up to 150 passengers, facilitating improved connectivity and travel opportunities.
