Gulmarg, one of Asia’s most popular skiing destinations, is all set to host a five-day national winter games event from 7th March under Khelo India – a national programme for the development of sports.
The games are expected to have 30 events under four disciplines including snowboarding, snow skiing, cross country and snow-show in which players from across India would participate. While on the side-lines, snow cycling and other games will be held for the local children.
This will be the first big event to be hosted in the valley after the abrogation of Article 370 in August last year.
